While we wait for the big budget RPG Hogwarts Legacy, Zynga has released Harry Potter: Puzzles & Spells, a classic Match-3 puzzle game on iOS, Android, and Amazon mobile devices as well as Facebook. If players are interested in the newly-announced title, however, they are surely in for a finger-tapping experience.With all these Harry Potter games coming out you’d think it was the 2000s. There are no shortage of match-3 mobile games available, featuring all different kinds of skins and themes, and while Harry Potter may not have ever ventured into the match-3 puzzle game format before it's unlikely Zynga will truly be redefining the core gameplay experience just by adding some wizard-like themes to the background and item animations.

While this new Harry Potter mobile game is sure to be popular among some subsections of the franchise's fanbase, most players are likely disappointed the game isn't the rumored RPG they have been waiting for. The President of Publishing at Zynga, Bernard Kim, stated in the press release for Harry Potter: Puzzles & Spells that the game ' gives players a chance to revisit their favorite Wizarding World landmarks in a new way,' and that the company urges players ' to stay tuned to the magic, mischief, and puzzles ahead through the game's website.'

Harry Potter: Puzzles & Spells will feature such classic Harry Potter locations as Hogwarts School of Witchcraft & Wizardry's Great Hall and Gryffindor common rooms, as well as Diagon Alley, Hogwarts Express, and Platform Nine & Three-Quarters.
