The series was well-received, placing regularly in Japan's weekly top ten anime shows broadcast. All of the songs are composed by Hideaki Takatori. For the first 24 episodes, the ending theme is 'Yay! Yay! Yay!' ( イェイ！イェイ！イェイ！, Yei! Yei! Yei! ) by Hitomi Yoshida, whilst the ending theme for episodes 25-48 is 'Mankai * Smile!' ( 満開＊スマイル！, Mankai*Sumairu!, Full Bloom * Smile!) by Yoshida. The opening theme is 'Let's go! Smile PreCure!' ( Let's go!スマイルプリキュア！, Retsu gō! Sumairu Purikyua) by Aya Ikeda. The original Japanese version aired in TV Asahi in Japan from Februto Janufor 48 episodes, replacing Suite PreCure in its initial timeslot, and was succeeded by DokiDoki! PreCure. It follows Miyuki Hoshizora and her friends as she helps Candy gather all the Cure Décor and stop the Bad End Kingdom from giving the whole world the 'Worst Ending'. Also placing special Cure Decor to it, it creates the Princess Candles to Pretty Cures, and later performing group attacks Rainbow Burst, and afterwards Royal Rainbow Burst.Smile PreCure! is the ninth installment of the Pretty Cure anime television series produced by Toei Animation. Many of them create something little to Candy, like costumes and haircare accessories. In addition, other Cure Decor pieces can also be inserted into the Smile Pact to grant the Cures additional abilities and items. Happy gets her power by squeezing her hands to fists, and screaming to the sky, Sunny by taking masculing stance, Peace by squeezing one of her hands to fist and holding Smile Pact in her other hand right in front of her, March by squeezing Smile Pact with her both hands on her pelvis, and Beauty by squeezing Smile Pact on her chest. It gathers fighting spirit from the Cures and changes that into energy to perform their finishing moves. The Smile Pact also grants power to the Cures. They then call out 'Pretty Cure! Smile Charge!', then use a powder puff to spread magic onto their bodies, allowing them to change into their Cure Forms. To transform, the girls open the Smile Pact and set their ribbon-shaped Cure Decor inside.

The Pact itself is powered by the special Cure Decor pieces. The Smile Pact (スマイルパクト, Sumairu Pakuto) (called the Glitter Pact in Glitter Force) is a compact-like device that allows the girls in Smile Pretty Cure! to transform into Pretty Cure, and harness the power of the Cure Decor pieces.
